Sona Zakharyan Memorial Scholarship
The goal of the Sona Zakharian Memorial Scholarship is to support underprivileged students who demonstrate high academic achievement. The Scholarship was established in memory of the honored teacher Sonya Zakharyan, who taught the Armenian language and Armenian literature in the schools of the town of Gavar (Gegharkunik Region) for more than 30 years. At the moment, the Scholarship is provided only to graduates of the School N3 of Gavar. The selection of applicants is carried out by the Pedagogical Council of the School.
The Scholarship was founded by Manuk and Stepan Yergnyans and is managed by the “Amrots” Foundation.In 2022 the Scholarship was granted to Milena Egoyan, who is studying now at the Department of Public Policy and Management of the Faculty of International Relations of Yerevan State University.
I understand that education is the most important weapon and shield of our people. My professional choice is determined by the desire to benefit my Motherland and people, to serve the public interest. My goal is to show myself as a specialist in the field of public administration of the RA. I would like my peers to take education and, above all, their choices very seriously.
