The “Tsil” ("Germ") Community during the recent events
The strength of a nation in difficult times is often measured by the human merits of its descendants and their willingness to help each other. During the latest events that took place in Artsakh, which found itself in the epicenter of war and genocide, members of the “Tsil” (“Germ”) Community, living in various regions of RA and Javakhq and distinguished by their creative abilities, also supported their Artsakhi compatriots. Collecting essential supplies and facilitating the search for shelter is an important humanitarian activity, especially for people forced to leave their homes.
A representative of the “Tsil” (“Germ”) Community from the Kotayk Region, who preferred to stay anonymous, became a volunteer at the “VIVA” medical center in the city of Hrazdan, in a team of like-minded people that managed to provide assistance to more than 5 thousand people. He continues his work as a volunteer today.
Members of the “Tsil” Community were also involved in a large-scale program of the “Fizmath Volunteer Union” with the goal to organize free classes of all subjects for the Artsakh children of all age groups.
Kristine Martirosyan from Tavush Region worked as a volunteer in the public organization “Generation of Independence”, dealing with organizational issues aimed at improving the living conditions of Artsakh refugees.
Mher Sanosyan from Yerevan collected data with “Bardzrunk” NGO on families experiencing housing problems, identifying target groups (families preferring to live in regions) and ensuring their connection with communities in the Regions, as well as with those who have available housing and are ready to provide it for free.
Farida Malkhasyan from Ashtarak, in cooperation with the Student Council of the Armenian-Russian University (RAU), collected food, clothes, toys, and also looked for apartments for rent, and collected other necessary information for refugees.
Satenik Artenyan from Vedi, sharing the idea of the need to strengthen the borders of the Motherland with engineering structures, for this purpose, together with like-minded students from RAU, initiated an action to collect waste paper, as a result of which an amount of more than 800,000 drams was raised. Another “Tsil” representative, Anush Gasparyan from the village of Karmir, took an active part in the action.
This is not the complete picture, since not all our fellows told about what they have done.
It is heartening to see the collective spirit of the Community uniting young Armenian authors to support their compatriots in these difficult times and making a small difference in reality.
